The Williston High School girls track and field team had a good showing at its most recent meet, which was on Friday, March 25 in Fargo.
It was an indoor meet for Class A teams across North Dakota, and the Lady Coyotes placed 13th, according to the Western Dakota Association website. Overall, the Lady Coyotes garnered 11 team points, according to athletic.net. In total, 17 teams competed.
All scores and placings referenced are from athletic.net.
Although Williston placed low as a team, some of the Lady Coyotes’ individual athletes placed highly in their respective events.
In the 1600 meter race, Eleni Lovgren shined, winning the event by approximately nine seconds; her finishing time was 5:24.60. Following her, Sierra Watterud placed ninth in the event with a time of 5:40.85.
Also placing well at the meet was Kaitlyn Barbarick. She placed eighth in the pole vault, setting a personal record with a mark of 8-03.00.
Kaylea Kealoha also recorded a good finish Friday, as she placed just outside the top 10 (12th) with a time of 28.12 in the 200 meter dash, a personal record.
The next meet for the Lady Coyotes is on Friday, April 1, according to the WDA website. Williston will host its home meet starting at 1 p.m.
