Who’s eligible?
•All adults and children age 5 years and older.
• The Ohio Department of Health has reported four deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the five-county region in the last week, while one death previously attributed to COVID-19 in Allen County has been removed.
• There were 52 active COVID-19 cases in long-term care facilities in Allen, Auglaize and Putnam counties during the week prior to Tuesday, according to ODH.
• The ODH wastewater monitoring network, which looks for traces of the virus that causes COVID-19 in sewage samples collected in cities across the state, has reported an 81% decrease in virus fragments detected in wastewater samples from Lima. The samples were collected from March 6 through March 15.
• The CDC rates community risk as low in Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Putnam and Van Wert counties, because hospital utilization and the number of new coronavirus cases identified in the area remains low. Still, community transmission of the virus is moderate in Allen, Auglaize and Putnam counties, according to CDC.
There were four new hospital admissions for COVID-19 in Allen County in the week prior to Monday, according to CDC. Only 1.5% of hospital inpatients and ICU patients in the region were COVID-19 positive during that time.
• Vaccinations have mostly stalled in the region. There were 51 vaccines started in Allen County in the last week, bringing the total to 46.3% of residents who have had at least one dose of vaccine. Vaccination rates elsewhere in the region are 50.75% in Putnam County; 45.52% in Van Wert County; 40.95% in Auglaize County and 41.39% in Hardin County.
