It’s a good news/bad news scenario on the fuel front today.
Dan McTeague of GasWizard.ca predicts a reduction at the gasoline pumps by about 3 1/2 cents per litre and a drop of 10 cents for diesel. However, if you use furnace or stove oil for heat, be prepared for a 12 cent hit.
The Public Utilities Board sets the prices at midnight tonight.
In either event, the federal government is set to impose a hit of 2 1/2 cents on gas as part of carbon reduction plans. That increase takes effect on Friday.
