Since the lockout ended, Chicago\u00a0signed\u00a0Steven Brault, David Robertson, Chris Martin, Daniel Norris and Jesse Chavez to overhaul their bullpen.<br \/>Having agreed to a <a href=#gpd-1647538301630 data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=gnt_ar_b_a>deal with Archie Bradley earlier<\/a> Thursday, the Angels added another arm to the bullpen by signing right-hander Ryan Tepera to a two-year deal with $14 million.<br \/>Tepera was <a href=\"\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2022\/03\/10\/mlb-free-agents-2022-top-remaining-players-after-baseball-lockout\/9330931002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">one of the top relievers available in the offseason<\/a>, posting a 2.79 ERA in 65 games with the Cubs and White Sox last season.<br \/>Solidifying the bullpen has been a priority this offseason for the Angels \u2013 who<a href=\"\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2021\/12\/01\/la-angels-re-sign-closer-raisel-iglesias-to-58-million-deal\/49466853\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\"> extended Raisel Iglesias<\/a> and <a href=\"\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2021\/11\/22\/angels-sign-reliever-aaron-loup-for-2-years-17-million\/49422331\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">signed lefty Aaron Loup<\/a> prior to the lockout \u2013 and the team added another reliever Thursday, agreeing to a<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ken_Rosenthal\/status\/1504508079299305472\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">\u00a0one-year, $3.75 million deal with right-hander Archie Bradley<\/a>.<br \/>The 29-year-old spent last season with the Phillies, posting a 3.71 ERA in 53 appearances. Bradley&#8217;s\u00a07.1 K\/9 in 2021 was the worst he&#8217;s posted since his 2015 rookie season.<br \/>The Cubs&#8217; roster remake continues,\u00a0agreeing to a one-year deal with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ByRobertMurray\/status\/1504494255225532419\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">versatile free agent infielder Jonathan Villar<\/a>.<br \/>Villar hit 18 home runs with 14 steals for the Mets in 2021, playing second, third and shortstop.\u00a0In 2019 with the Orioles, Villar set careers highs with 25 homers and 73, stealing 40 bases.<br \/>Since the lockout ended, the Cubs signed shortstop Andrelton Simmons and <a href=\"\/story\/sports\/mlb\/cubs\/2022\/03\/16\/cubs-agree-deal-japanese-star-seiya-suzuki\/7059466001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Japanese outfielder Seiya Suzuki<\/a>. Patrick Wisdom is penciled in at third base for Chicago\u00a0with Nick Madrigal\u00a0(coming off an injury) at second, but Villar should get fairly regular at-bats.<br \/>St. Louis <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Feinsand\/status\/1504491178301001732\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">agreed to a one-year deal with Corey Dickerson<\/a>\u00a0worth $5 million, adding the veteran to the mix for at-bats against right-handed pitching as an outfielder and designated hitter.<br \/>Dickerson, 32, is a career .288 hitter against right-handers and spent 2021 with the Marlins and Blue Jays.\u00a0He was an All-Star for the Rays in 2017 and a Gold Glover with the Pirates in 2018, but has only played 239 games in the past three seasons.<br \/>In a stunning move late Wednesday night, <a href=\"\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2022\/03\/16\/freddie-freeman-la-dodgers-agree-six-year-162-million-contract\/6991907001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Freddie Freeman agreed to a six-year, $162 million deal<\/a> with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a lucrative landing for the five-time All-Star who had spent his entire 12-year career with the Atlanta Braves.<br \/>The addition of Freeman creates an abundance of dominant bats that will shuffle among multiple positions with the addition of the designated hitter in the National League. Incumbent\u00a0first baseman Max Muncy will now get most of his at-bats at DH or, perhaps, second base.\u00a0<br \/>Freeman&#8217;s defection from Atlanta came despite multiple teammates grabbing a microphone at the team&#8217;s World Series celebration and imploring management to re-sign Freeman. But the sides did not significantly engage before the 99-day lockout began Dec. 2. The Philadelphia Phillies showed interest, but once they decided to sign Bryant\u2019s former teammate, Kyle Schwarber (four years, $79 million), Bryant was left with no choice without walking away from tens of millions.<br \/>The more compelling questions at Bryant\u2019s introductory press conference will be directed toward\u00a0the Rockies.
