Nor can it have a single solution,&#8221; Scott said in her post. <br \/>&#8220;We are all human. And we all have enormous energy to devote to helping and protecting those we love,&#8221; she also said.<br \/>Scott, who divorced Amazon founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos in 2019, so far has given away more than $12 billion to nearly 1,200 groups. In her divorce from Bezos, she received a 4% stake in Amazon. Currently, her estimated net worth is $48.3 billion.<br \/>The large donation was made to Planned Parenthood&#8217;s national office and 21 regional affiliates, a move that is part of Scott&#8217;s 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/mackenzie-scott.medium.com\/116-organizations-driving-change-67354c6d733d?source=post_page-----f4c7487818d9----4-------------------------------\">pledge <\/a>to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2019\/05\/28\/727612204\/mackenzie-bezos-pledges-to-give-more-than-half-of-her-billions-to-charity\">give away the majority of her wealth<\/a>.<br \/>&#8220;We are incredibly grateful for Ms. Scott&#8217;s extraordinary philanthropic investment in Planned Parenthood, as a critical part of the public health infrastructure,&#8221; Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/about-us\/newsroom\/press-releases\/planned-parenthood-announces-275-million-historic-donation-from-mackenzie-scott-to-support-public-health-equity-across-the-country\">statement<\/a>.<br \/>The donation, McGill Johnson says, will support the nonprofit&#8217;s efforts to improve health equity for its patients of color by eliminating racial and structural barriers in the community.<br \/>Sponsor Message<br \/><a href=\"\/about-npr\/186948703\/corporate-sponsorship\">Become an NPR sponsor<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/03\/23\/1088390733\/mackenzie-scott-donation-planned-parenthood\">source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jonathan Franklin MacKenzie Scott, shown here in 2017, has made a major donation to Planned Parenthood.
