The Watertown Area Community Foundation comes together to award grants to multiple organizations every year.<br \/>Executive Director Jan Deberg gives some background on the WACF Youth Council\u2026<br \/>Jan talks about how the Youth Council benefits\u2026<br \/>Jan discusses the organizations that were awarded grants\u2026<br \/>Jan explains how to sign up\u2026<br \/>\u00a0Below is the Watertown Area Community Foundation&#8217;s Press Release:<br \/>The Watertown Area Community Foundation Youth Council has awarded its 2022 grants to area youth-serving organizations.\u00a0<br \/>The 2022 grants awarded are:<br \/>The Foundation started the Youth Council in 2001 with the belief that young people care about others and their community and they would like to have a voice in the issues, challenges and opportunities they face both now and in the future. \u00a0Youth Council members learn about non-profit organizations in our community, learn leadership skills, become involved in philanthropy and award grants each spring.<br \/>Current Youth Council members are:Emma Koch and Macy Vogt, seniors;<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Emma Brist, Grace Martenson and Samantha Keup, juniors.<br \/>Sophomores entering their junior year this fall are eligible to apply for three positions on the Youth Council for the 2022-2023 school year.
