DEAR EDITOR:
Elvis Presley once said, “When things go wrong, don’t go with them.”
The three Trumbull County commissioners could have been called “The Three Tenors” in the past. Things change; that’s just normal.
Today, we may refer to them as “Trumbull’s Trio” — one soprano and two tenors.
The camaraderie between the three commissioners says, “Walk a mile in my shoes,” while Elvis Presley has said, “You can’t walk a block in my socks.”
The song they all sing at today’s meetings started with the soprano, “Stormy Weather,” by Lena Horne.
“Don’t know why there’s no sun up in the sky, stormy weather, keeps raining all the time.”
Meanwhile, the two tenors belt out “Cool Water” by Burl Ives. “All day I’ve faced the barren waste, without the taste of water, cool water, Old Dan and I, with throats burned dry, and souls that cry for water, cool, clear, water.”
By the sound of things, it’s time to bring in a chorus that will sing in harmony.
If this trio can’t get their act together, the voters can make this a final swan song.
